Eat together and pay half price: Arabs and Jews who eat together
Thou hath set a table before my enemies...:-). In a bid to foster peace and understanding in the unsettled region, an Israeli cafe bar revealed a bold new move on Facebook. Houmous restaurant situated close to disputed territory in Israel says they are offering 50% off to Arabs and Jews who dine together. In the post on Facebook, they wrote;
"Scared of Arabs? Scared of Jews? By us we don’t have Arabs! But we also don’t have Jews… By us we’ve got human beings!"The cafe manager said Kobi Tzafrir says:
"If there’s anything that can bring together these peoples, it’s houmous."Religious sensitivities are taken into consideration, also kosher and halal meals are available. Houmous is a Middle Eastern delicacy made with cooked, mashed chickpeas blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic.
